Problem Solving

L.I- We are learning to solve division problem by equal sharing in ones, two's and fives.
S.C- I know I can do this when I solve problems by equal sharing using division and fraction.

1). 30 lollies shared between 5 bags? =6
1/5 of 30= 6            × 6=30   30 ÷ 5= 6
5, 10, 15, 20, 25,30.

5+5= 10 ; 5+5=10;  5+5= 10   so,10+10+10= 30


2). 45 lollies shared between 5 bags? =9
45 ÷ 5= 9   1/5 of 45= 9   × 9= 45
5+5=10 5+5=10 5+5=10 5+5=10
10+10=20    10+10=20     so, 20+20= 40+5

3). 35 lollies shared between 5 bags? =7
35 ÷ 5= 7      1/5 of 35=7     × 7=35
5, 10, 15, 20,25,30,35.
5+5=10 5+5=10 5+5=10  so, 10+10=20+10=30+5=35

4). 100 lollies shared between 10 bags?= 10
100 ÷ 10=10        1/10 of 100=10   1× 10=100
10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90, 100.
10+10=20 10+10=20 10+10=20 10+10=20 
10+10=20     20+20+20+20+20+20+20=100

S.C- I know I can do this when I can measure the length of the carrot using cm.

Today me and Anamaria measured a carrot using 5 cm, 10 cm, 6 cm, 8 cm.

This what we found out:


1. Using 5 cm- the carrot is eleven 5 cm.long.


2. Using 10 cm- the carrot is five 10 cm.long.


3. Using 6 cm- the carrot thirteen 6 cm.long.


4. Using 8 cm- the carrot is seven 8 cm.long

Dear Gita,
I would like to thank you and the chef's for the 
beautiful lunch you gave us.
What I like about the lunch is the nice fruit salad.
It had tasty kiwi fruit, sour yoghurt and plum and the juicy grapes and pineapple.

The tasty sandwiches were delicious. I like the crunchy celery, fresh cucumber and the creamy mayonnaise.
 I didn't like the yucky cookie, because I don't like honey and oats, but I like the chocolate dip.

How to grow a carrot tree

L.I- W.A.L.T- give appropriate instructions.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I give  instructions how to grow a carrot tree.

Materials - A carrot top, plastic container and a jug of water.

Steps:

1. Cut a carrot top.
2. Put the carrot top in the container.
3. Put some water in the the container.
4. Put the container with the carrot top on the window sill where the sun shines.
5. Watch it grow.
6. Did it work? how can you tell?

                                         My dad is a hero
L.I- W.A.L.T- write a recount about heroes.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write a recount about my dad being a hero.

My dad is my hero because he fixes bikes whenever it's not working.  He helps me with my homework especially when I got stuck with my Maths. He helps me with my spelling words  and my handwriting. 

My dad supports me in all my sports activities so that I will become a tennis champion someday. He is my true hero because he works hard to earn money to buy food for the family. He also cooks and makes us lunch for school every day. He looks after me and my  sisters after school and makes sure that we do our homework.

My dad is a fantastic dad.
