  1. Hi Sherry...here's my workings out on the problem...
    1985 > 2010 = 25yrs
    7th April > end of April = 23 days
    May = 31 days
    June = 30 days
    > 9th July = 9 days
    = 23+31+30+9= 93 days
    April = 30 days, May = 31 days, June = 30 days (92 days)
    2 days left over
    = 25 yrs, 3 months and 2 days.

  2. Hi Ron, I see we have different answers, I double checked mine and I think it's right but it's fine. I see you said 26 years from 1885 - 2000 that equals 15 years plus the 10 years from 2000- 2010 and that equals to 25 years. From the 7th to the 30th of April that's 23 days. Save that from aside and add May and June and that's 2 months. From the 1st to the 9th of July, that's 9 days. Get the 23 days and plus 7 days, that means it equals a month, so now we have 3 months. Leftover days is 2 so now we have 25 years, 3 months & 2 days. That's how I worked mine out, I think you were confused with the days that makes a month but that's alright. Why would the activity make us solve this math problem?, they don't really give us math activities to do, they might have a reason why they made this.
