Three things I have learned from the School Strike for Climate Australia website:
- The children in Australia would rather sacrifice their education and fight to stop climate change from happening.
- In Australia, education is immensely crucial. They believe it's a way of making a difference in the world.
- Their network is:
School student-led
Decentralized
Grassroots
Non-partisan
Inclusive
Non-violent
Mission-focused
Ambitious
Creative
One way of helping the environment is by saving hot water. My family boils cold water to wash the dishes and have quick warm showers.

Hey Ida!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I put that part 'wash dishes like good children' because I thought it would make people laugh when they read it, especially children our age. Happy New Years to you to.!!
Kind Regards, Roneeza :)
Well done on posting and continuing to participate in the SLJ this year. What else could you do to be a climate changemaker Sherry? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Mrs Collins,
DeleteThank you for your comment. One other way to become a climate changemaker is to buy less of the packaged food. We need to quit using plastic wrappings because they are bad for the environment and bad for the animals. I wonder what NZ would look like during the next 10-20 years... Anyway, have a blessed week!
Roneeza
Hi Ron, thanks for sharing what you've learnt from the website, I see that their education is Australia is pretty crucial, how is it making it crucial and why do they believe that it would make a difference in the world. Also yes, saving hot water can save the enviroment as it does several things such as saving amount of energy to heat water, diverts less water and you pay less money from your house bill (Hehe). Your right about having quick warm showers but don't you think about how much electricity your using to heat the water to washing dishes? Probably explain another way to save energy :D

Hey Ana,
DeleteThanks for your comment. That is a good point, but have you ever thought of heating the water in other ways..? Such as putting water in a pot or tea pot and putting it over a camp fire or anything like that (hEhEHehE). Though I like how you think around the situation. Anyway, have a great week.
