Maps of New Zealand

For this reading activity, I had to get two maps of New Zealand, compare them, and list the differences about the two. The one on the left is a sketch drawn by James Cook, similar to the image in my journal and was found online. The image on the right was also found online.

  1. Roneeza, I liked the way you placed the two maps you were comparing side by side because as you were commenting it was easy to follow what you were saying by looking at the maps. You were able to find many differences between the two. How clever and talented Captain Cook must have been to draw maps with no digital or much technical assistance.

  2. Which of the maps do you prefer Roneeza? Could you draw your own on a Google Drawing? Have a go...

I am Rasheed from Edmund Hillary School. I just wanted to say that this map is very cool. You showed me the diffrence between the past and the present. Not only that you showed that Captain Cook drew maps without any technology. He must have been pretty great. It is also really informative about our country New Zealand. Come check out my blog - https://edhillrasheedb.blogspot.com/

    Kind Regards
    Rasheed :)
