Asking questions helps us to understand the text better!

Questioning helps you to find information and focus your attention on what’s important in the text. You can ask questions using the five w’s, ‘what if’ and ‘I wonder...’ after, before or during reading so that you’ll understand the text better.
For example:
If someone was reading a story and they didn’t understand a part of the text, they could ask a question and look it up online or ask someone older for help so they could understand it better.

Learning Intention: We are learning to develop our understanding of different reading strategies when we read a piece of text.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I explain how we can ask questions while reading using screencastify.
